The Back Log, vol. 68 - It's Ambassador Snow
Not to be confused with Jon Snow, Edward Snowden or the Pokémon Abomasnow...
Well, hello again! I'm glad you got past the ambassador, who also doubles up as a very useful bouncer due to the fact that he is simply an absolute unit. You can thank Dolphinpants for his existence - and direct any complaints towards him as well.
Anyway, while I've got you here - how about some housekeeping?
First up, I mentioned the other week that we're looking for some new mods to join our mod team! Well, as of today, that application form is now live, so if that's something you'd be interested in, we'd love for you to send through an application here.
Now that the more important one is out of the way, I've also got another Google Form for you, but this time a deeply unserious one. As part of our show this week, we'll be bring back Baldur's Date Me from our PAX 2023 live show, this time around the latest fantasy hotness, Avowed. If you've got a character creation you want us to arbitrarily rate on their date-ability live on Twitch, then you can send it through to us here.
Alright, house has been kept! Ambassador Snow has been sent home, so now we can get to the real juicy stuff.
PREVIOUSLY ON BACK POCKET
Back Pocket Tonight x2 feat. the return of Sarah Wolfe & new guest SonnyMovement
As I was away at the start of last week on a much needed (and much too brief) beach vacation, we've got two weeks of Back Pocket to catch you up on.
First up, we had musician and game composer Sarah Wolfe back on the show for a second time, and she even debuted some of her latest music release for us! After chatting through our favourite trailers from Sony's latest State of Play, the gang got stuck into What We've Been Playing, including some updated thoughts on Hello Kitty Island Adventure and Indiana Jones & the Great Circle, as well as some first impressions of Schrodinger's Cat Burglar and A Game About Digging A Hole (yes, that's what the game is called). To round out the show, we played a game of Pocketry for Neanderthals, and jumped into some Very Good Gameplay of multiplayer party game Unstoppable.
Then, last week we had a brand new guest - Twitch streamer SonnyMovement. So, to Pete's delight, we leaned into one of Sonny's truest loves, Pokémon, to theme the majority of the episode around those adorable little Pocket Monsters. That meant a mega pack opening in Pokémon TCG Pocket, a Pokémon-themed Ranky Panky and a special gameplay segment of the all-time classic, Pokémon Stadium. And naturally, a not-at-all properly themed What We've Been Playing featuring Avowed, While Waiting, Slitterhead and... Shop Simulator: Waifu Pillow.

This week feels like the calm before the Monster Hunter storm. I genuinely do not think many of us are ready for just how much this game is about to take over, and honestly, I'm totally here for it. I truly cannot wait to seek my weekend into it - maybe I'll even bump into some of you amidst the Wilds?
