Mandrill vs Spider-Girls [INK PREVIEWS]

Hey gang,

I know many have been inquiring about the status of Mandrill vs. Spider-Girls, the comic I teased a while back.

Many other projects have taken precedence over this for various reasons -- commissions, personal interest, scheduling, etc -- but I wanted to take this opportunity to show you some of the inked linework from early on in the chapter. This story is a long one, and I have only really started inking the intro pages, none of the real action, but you can see the set-up here.

One thing that was requested by the commisisoner of this project originally was that Spider-Gwen keep her mask on for much of the fight, before Mandrill eventually tears it off. I would have preferred to take the mask off soon after Gwen arrives (Page 6) because showing her face gives more opportunity for emoting and expression, but some commenters here echoed the commissioner's feeling so as you can see here, the mask stays on.

Much of Gwen's suit detailing (the webs, the logo, etc) would be added at the shading stage, as would the black latex of Felicia's bodysuit.

I'm still very committed to this project and very excited to get back to it! But I expect you will see a few other finished projects before that -- Mandrill vs. Elastigirl and the Bang My Bully prequel being among them.
