Vice & Void
Sometimes authors let me draw their characters popping bubblegum and give them tattoos that say "Live Fast. Eat Ass." I have the best clients.
Some of my favorite art happens when an author tells me to go nuts and I get to be my horny goblin self. Sadie Hewitt sent me pintrest moodboards of her characters, including a cute aesthetic photo of a blonde blowing bubblegum. So of course I thought "What if bubbles but horny?" I'm shocked and thrilled the author said yes.
I also got to experiment a little with a background. She wanted something Sons of Anarchy meets occult meets gold and black to match the cover and vibe of the book. I think it turned out well without being too time consuming (background take forever and I hate them). I might play around with abstract backgrounds a little more.
I got to design almost all of his tattoos. The runes are a nod to my past work. Anytime I'm drawing tattoos, someone is getting rune fingers. The art across his chest and right arm is all trash polka, a style I fell in love with while researching the Harry Potter tattoo series.
I'm also a little obsessed with giving men little moles now? It started with Theo. Blame Theo. (Actually, it started with this drawing of communist camboy Draco back in 2021 when I first started drawing, but we're going to pretend this art doesn't exist because looking back at old work gives me THE CRINGE)
